Tristan Polley

Tristan Edward Polley was a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was the heart and soul of his family, and his loss has left an emptiness that words cannot describe. Tristan was truly one of a kind, he was gentle, kind-hearted and without malice. He never looked for the worst in people, and there was a goodness in him that those who knew him will carry with them forever. Tristan had his own way of doing things, and that was part of what made him so special. He could be wonderfully messy, leaving a trail of his life wherever he went, and his family will undoubtedly miss complaining about the messes he left behind. Looking back, even those little frustrations have become memories we would give anything to have again. Tristan and his dog, Willow, were inseparable. Willow was his constant companion and his best friend. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially the time he spent with his grandfather, Rayford "Uncle Red" Goodson, feeding the deer. Music was a huge part of Tristan's world. He loved Michael Jackson and Weird Al, and he had a habit of playing his music so loudly through his headphones that Mom, Dad, and his brothers could hear it anyway. He loved his PS5, going to the movies, superhero films, Batman and Spider-Man, and horror movies, especially Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. He also loved cartoons of all kinds. Tristan found happiness in the simple things. He loved dancing, swimming, family game nights, playing Bingo, coffee mornings, Funko Pops, and watching The Bachelor and The Bachelorette with Mom. He loved holidays, especially Halloween and St. Patrick's Day. He enjoyed taking long baths with his rubber ducks and could often be found bundled up in a hoodie, even when everyone else thought it was warm. Tristan loved food and knew exactly what he liked. He was proudly a "meat kiddo", anything but fish, because, as he would say, "they're my friends." He loved junk food and could usually be found with a bag of Takis nearby. He loved pancakes with ice cream and lemon meringue pie. Tristan dreamed of one day running a bakery with his brother. He had a wonderful imagination, a unique sense of humor, and a way of enjoying the things he loved completely and unapologetically. But more than all the things Tristan loved, it was the kind of person he was that made him so deeply loved. He was kind, loving, funny, sometimes mischievous, sometimes messy, and always completely himself. He loved his family and the people around him in his own special way, and he left an impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Tristan was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cannie Mae Goodson. He is survived by his parents, Mary and Stuart Polley of Buffalo Valley; his brothers, Jack Polley and Christian Hill, both of Buffalo Valley; his sister, Miranda Mitchel, and her husband, Donald Mitchel, both of Parker, Colorado; his grandfather, Rayford "Uncle Red" Goodson of Buffalo Valley; and his grandmother and grandfather, Susan and Stephen Polley of Gloucester, England. Tristan was the very proud uncle of Octavia Mitchel. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, and many cousins, as well as extended family including Ray Hill of Moyers and Tracy Frost of Oklahoma City. Tristan will be remembered in a thousand little ways, in a song played too loudly through headphones, an empty spot beside Willow, a Friday Root Beer, a messy room, a superhero movie, a game of Bingo, or a plate of mac and cheese shells. He was the heart and soul of our family. His kindness, his humor, his quirks, and his love will remain with us forever. He will never be forgotten. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at McCarn Funeral Service. Services will be on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 10:00AM at New Hope Church in Talihina, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service.
