John Duane McClard

John "Duane" McClard was born on January 26th, 1933 on what is now the Hatton Ranch, to John Author McClard and Hattie Elizabeth Milligan. His early years were spent with his parents and siblings. At age 17, he logged with his dad and brother. He met his soul mate and lifelong love, Francis Onetia Young, in 1952, high school sweethearts, they married on June 17th, 1952 and raised three children. He worked as a mason helper, ranch hand on the "Flying D', and dozer hand for the Hatton brothers. He continued that for 40 years. He loved God, his wife and children, and their families. He devoted his life to these; God, Guns and Family and the outdoors. Duane is survived by his wife, Oneita, of the home, a union of 67 years, 4 months and 21 days; one son, Dennis and wife Ruth McClard of Talihina, OK; two daughters, Gwen and husband Bill King of Talihina, OK, and Tina and husband Hoot Bell of Clayton, OK; eight grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one great- great granddaughter; one sister, Darlene Stringer and husband Ted of Peidmont, OK; two sister-in-law's, Geraldine Trowbridge and Edith McClard, both of Talihina, OK; one brother-in-law, Tom Baggs of Pickens, OK; several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Duane is preceded in death by his parents, John and Hattie McClard; brothers, Bobby Gene McClard, Harrison Sheridan McClard, Sterling James McClard, Carol Dean McClard, and Billy K McClard; sisters, Dorothy Stewart, Verna Marrow and Ann Baggs. Pallbearers will be; Cody McClard, Colt McClard, Dakota Johnson, Hunter McClard, Coleton Wilson, and Richard Marrow. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Richard Galyen, Bob Emmert, Mark Emmert, Barry Stringer, Stacy Baggs, Stephen Baggs, O B Brewer, and Donald Ray Welker. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 12th, 2019 from 12pm to 7pm at McCarn Funeral Home in Talihina, Oklahoma. Services will on Wednesday, November 13th 2019 at 2:00pm at Victory Baptist Church in Talihina, Oklahoma with Bro. Dennis McClard, Bro. Carroll Fitzgerald and Bro. Danny Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Laura McGee Cemetery in Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma. Services are entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service in Talihina, Oklahoma.
