Jeffery Arnold Weems

Jeffery Arnold Weems, age 61 of Wilburton, Oklahoma passed from this life on November 15, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his family by his side. Jeff was born on October 17, 1962 in Oakland California to Beatrice Fay (Howze) and Bobby Ray Weems. Jeff graduated high school at Clayton High School in Clayton, Oklahoma. He then went on to obtain his bachelor's degree at Cameron University in Computer Science. After college he started his career at Eastern Oklahoma State College as the CTO where he served for 34 years before retiring in December 2020. Jeff loved his time at Eastern and made many lifelong friendships.Jeff married the love of his life Patricia Ann (Baggs) on June 16, 1984 at Clayton Church of Christ. But their fates were destined long before that day. His mother Fay Howze and Patty's mother Betty Glenn were best friends growing up in Clayton. And it was written in the stars that both their youngest children would ultimately grow up and fall in love. They have journeyed through life together in laughter and love for 39(+) years. Jeff was a devoted and loving father to his two daughters Cassie and Rachael. But his greatest joy was being a PawPaw to his 3 grandchildren, who were the absolute light of his life. Jeff is survived by his wife, Patty, of the home; children Cassie Ann Weems and husband Ryan Sims of Edgewater, Florida, Rachael Weems of Wilburton Oklahoma; grandchildren Sidda Jolee Sims, Elizabeth Grace Johnson and Emily Victoria Johnson; brother Kenny Weems and wife Youlonda of Greeneville, Texas; sister Janice Webster and husband Bruce of Clayton, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Mona Dennis and husband Larry of Clayton Oklahoma, sister-in-law Tammy Griffith and husband Roy of Talihina, Oklahoma and brother in law Johnny Baggs and wife Lara of Greenwood, Arkansas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends. Jeff loved all his nieces and nephews dearly. Jeff was passionate about music. He started playing the drums with the family band when he was 16 years old and continued to play music with his best friend and cousin Sonny Williams right up to the weekend before his passing. Music was always a big part of life growing up with his family. His current band, Whiskey River Road, comprised of Sonny Williams, Mickey Billy and Neil Billy tore up all the honkeytonks and casinos in SE Oklahoma. Jeff was also passionate about photography, which is why there are hardly any photos of him! He was the family photographer and took beautiful pictures that we will all cherish forever, even if the photos are of us and not of him. Jeff loved to camp and go 4-wheeling with his family and friends and spent countless weeks with them at the lake. These many trips were filled with laughter, music, food, storytelling and his beloved granddaughters. Family meant everything to Jeff. He was truly a great man. He always had a smile on his face, was quick to laugh and joke and LOVED to aggravate! He was greatly loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Jeff was received in heaven by his parents, Bob and Fay, niece Amanda Crippin, and grandson Matthew James and many other beloved family members. As well as his beloved dog Tootsie. Pallbearers: Sonny Williams, Kenny Weems, Tracy Clark, Jimmy Fryman, Bruce Webster and Ryan Sims. Honorary Pallbearers: Larry Dennis, Roy Griffith, Johnny Baggs and a thousand others. Visitation will be on Monday, November 20th, 2023 at 4:00PM to 6:00PM at McCarn Funeral Service in Talihina, Oklahoma. A Luncheon will be held at the Church of Christ in Clayton, Oklahoma at 12:00PM on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 before the graveside service. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 at 2:00PM at Stanley Cemetery in Stanley, Oklahoma with Bro. Craig Clark, Bro. Lyndon Howze and Bro. Chris Dennis officiating. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service of Talihina, Oklahoma. Special Thank You - Jeff and his family would like to extend their eternal gratitude to all the family members who dropped everything and ran to his and his girls side and supported and comforted him and his girls during the last few difficult days.
