Delora Helen Tidwell

Delora Helen (Wall) Tidwell, best known as "Dee",age 97, of Honobia, Oklahoma was called to her heavenly home on November 17th, 2023 after a long life full of family, happiness, and adventure. Dee was born on December 5, 1925 to original enrollees Allie Potts Wall and Thomas Henry Wall in Albion, OK. Dee attended school at Albion, Talihina, Whitesboro, Dwight Mission and Grayson High School in Durant. She later graduated from Whitesboro High School. In 1956, Dee married Roland Tidwell at Mcalester. They made their life in Honobia, and spent many years running the Honobia Store and Post Office. They both were known for helping the local people whenever they could either financially or just to give some sage advice. In her younger years, she enjoyed trail riding and was an avid NBA fan. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with the Smithville Choctaw Senior Citizens group throughout the country. She retired from the post office in 1988 after 37 years of service. In retirement, Dee spent her time traveling, making fried pies, and enjoying life. She was not a stay at home type of person and was always on the go. She placed her family as a priority in her life and always hosted family gatherings at her home. Dee was an active member of Christ's Church Little River Valley in Honobia, OK. She had a love for the Lord. She developed life long friendships with the church community which were very special to her. Preceded in death by her parents, spouse, siblings, son in law, Jerry Hunter; daughter in law, Kay Wall; great grandson, Cody Owens; great great grandson, Malachi. She is survived by her two children, Gene Wall and Barbara Hunter; grandchildren, Michael Owens, Kevin and Kay Wall, Keith Wall, Tracey and Darrel Brien, Rodney Hunter, and Tonya and Chad Pollard; 15 great grandchildren; 22 great great grandchildren; and one great, great, great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Dee will be remembers for her selfless giving to others and her sweet fried pies. She maintained her wit and strong mind until the end. Dee had expressed she wanted to recognize her wonderful friends, Shawna and Chris Cline and a very special girl, Vickie Balke Hill. Whether you knew her as Dee or Granny Dee she was a fixture in the Honobia Community and will be missed. Pallbearers are Mike Owens, Kevin Wall, Keith Wall, Rodney Hunter, Chad Pollard, Chris Cline, Kelsey Ludlow, Kacey Ludlow, Jace Hunter, Korben Brien, and Chase Pollard Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM at McCarn Funeral Home in Talihina. Services will be on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023 at 2:00PM at Little River Valley Christ's Church in Honobia, Oklahoma with Bro. Darrel Brien and Ed Grist officiating. Interment will follow at Ludlow Cemetery in Honobia. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service.
