Marilyn Lee Keith, the daughter of James and Irene (McCann) Raleigh, was born a twin on April 16th, 1933 in Leflore, OK and entered into the arms of our Lord and Savior on April 2nd, 2021 in Stilwell, OK at the age of 87 years. Marilyn worked as a caregiver in Tulsa, OK for several years before she and her husband moved to Talihina, OK in April 1994. Marilyn loved her family. She was a loving, devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend. She maintained an especially close relationship with her twin sister, Elizabeth (Raleigh) Loosier throughout her lifetime. She met the love of her life, James Keith, when she was a young girl, age 12 attending Chalk Bluff School in Stilwell, OK. James had a crush on her and sent her a valentine that said, "Cozy cottage just for two, how about it me and you?" They were married in Stilwell, OK at the county courthouse on August 20th, 1950. James was 21 and Marilyn was 17. They were married 63 years. Marilyn had two sons, James Elliott Keith, and Randy Lee Keith; one grandson, Randy Keith Jr. and two great granddaughters, Madison and Madeline. Marilyn loved her cat "Katherine" and her two small dogs, "Buttons" and "Porky." They remained her bedside companions throughout her illness. She loved photography and toured Southeastern Oklahoma taking pictures of horses and often going for a trail ride. She collected antique dolls and grew beautiful flower gardens in her yard in Talihina. She enjoyed all types of country music and old western movies. Marilyn was a beautiful woman with a vivacious personality and a generous kind heart that will be missed by all her loved ones and friends. She enjoyed life and her memory will live on forever in our hearts. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, James Keith; son, James Elliott Keith; father and mother, James Raleigh and Irene (McCann) Raleigh; stepmothers, Amelia Eldee Raleigh and Nettie Raleigh; paternal grandparents, General Green Raleigh and Mary Elizabeth; sister, Sylvia McFall; brothers, Jake Raleigh, Paul Raleigh; nephews, Joey Raleigh, Jason Raleigh, Kevin Brewer, Basil Raleigh; nieces, Brittany Brewer and Jacqueline Raleigh, Paulette Raleigh and great niece, Hannah McCarty. Marilyn leaves behind to cherish the memories of her life, a son, Randy Lee Keith; grandson, Randy Keith Jr.; great granddaughters, Madison and Madeline of Talihina, OK; sisters, Elizabeth (Raleigh) Loosier and husband of Stilwell, OK, Bonnie Turner of Tulsa, OK; brothers, Earl Raleigh and wife Joyce of Weatherford, OK, Jennings Raleigh of Stilwell, OK and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Hospice of the Cherokees staff for their tender, loving and compassionate care extended by all to Marilyn. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at McCarn Funeral Service in Talihina, Oklahoma. Services will be on Thursday, April 8th, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church in Talihina, Oklahoma with Bro. Danny Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Leflore Cemetery in Leflore, OK. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service of Talihina, Oklahoma.
