William Lon Nunley

William "Billy" Lon Nunley, age 55, passed from this earth to his heavenly home on November 24th, 2023 in Talihina, Oklahoma. He was born in Albion, Oklahoma to Betty (Bentley) and Thomas Nunley on September 14th, 1968. Billy was the youngest of the 6 children. Billy was a simple country man, he enjoyed the little things in life. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and his family and friends. Billy was a very hardworking man, from driving truck across country to cutting logs in the woods, to building houses, he was always working. He loved to hunt, fish, and be in the woods as often as he could. He was also a very skilled carpenter and could build just about anything he could imagine. Billy was a quiet man, until he got to know you. If he gave you a hard time, then he liked you. He was a loving, kind, and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Billy leaves behind his wife Rachel, head of the home; four children, Tausha and her husband Alan Mathews of Tuskahoma, Cody Nunley, Ashalee Benton and fiance Brittany Green of McAlester, and Darenger Nunley of Tuskahoma; nine grandchildren, Kaydence, Railynn, Myiah, N'Kyiah, Seth, Dulee, Bentlee, Wyatt, and Kage; four sisters and one brother, Tommie Nunley, Louise Creekbaum-Godsby, Lula Dighton and husband Orville, Patty Dean and husband Wardell, and Thomas (JR) Nunley and wife Rosa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He also leaves behind an ex-wife of 29 years, Melissa Duncan and an ex-mother in law whom he still considered family, Doris Duncan. Billy is preceded in passing by his parents, Betty Bentley and Thomas Nunley and ex-father in law, Philip Duncan. Pallbearers will be Jason Keehn, Russell Bentley, Dave Shaw, Mike Luman, Robert "Bobby" Bentley, Steve McIntyre. Honorary Pallbear Ron Corbin Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at McCarn Funeral Service in Talihina, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 at 2:00PM at Albion Cemetery in Albion, Oklahoma with Bro. Darrin Goode officiating. Services are under the direction of McCarn Funeral Service. The family will host a memorial service and dinner at Albion Baptist Church directly after the service.
