William Ellis Green

William Ellis Green, age 65 of Whitesboro, Oklahoma passed away from this life on August 18th, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. "Ellis" was born on March 17th, 1957 in Mena, Arkansas to Gladys (Parnell) and Gordon Green. He graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1975. Not long after high school, he started building houses with his brother in law, Walter Cress and quickly realized he had a God given talent for building things. He lived most of his life working as a carpenter. He built many beautiful pieces of furniture by just looking at a picture. He has built cabinets in hospitals all over Oklahoma, many for Choctaw Nation and even in surrounding states. He took pride in every job he had and made sure his customers were happy with the finished product. He had a love for his family, his farmland, and raising cattle for many years, but the last decade he focused on bailing hay. It was something he truly loved. Riding his tractor and seeing that beautiful blue mountain and his land he's worked hard to maintain brought him a sense of peace and happiness. Many have said that his daughter was the apple of his eye and it was evident from the close loving relationship they had with one another. As the years passed on, his love for his granddaughters was also very evident. He fought for their well being and happiness. He made sure he was a man that they needed in their lives. He loved them so very much and it was evident in his ways of giving and doing for them. He also had numerous young men that he claimed as his "sons" or "grandsons" and was always willing to help them in a time of need or just to be someone for them to confide in. Ellis, AKA PaPa, had a big loving heart and if he told you he loved you, he meant it. He will be missed by many people within our community and all across Oklahoma. We know without a doubt that he is rejoicing in Heaven in his favorite camo shirt and overalls with his son Kyle and parents, Gordon and Gladys. Ellis is survived by his daughter, Sherry and three granddaughters, Mackenzie, Madison and Jacie of Whitesboro, OK; one sister, Lena Jennings; two brothers, Roger Green and wife Anita and Vance Green and wife Judy as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and nephews and a host of friends. Ellis is preceded in passing by his son, William Kyle Green; parents, Gordon and Gladys Green; brother Leon Green and wife Mona; brother, Barnus Green; sister, Rena "Tincy" Jennings; sister, Edna Pugh; sister, Ruth Cress and husband Walter; brother, Lindsey Green Pallbearers will be Waylon Fry, Paul Vinson, Vernon Ramsey, Eugene Norvell and Steven Ramsey Honorary Pallbearers are all of his beloved boys that he called his "sons" A celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at 3:00PM at the Whitesboro School Gym. Cremation services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service of Talihina, Oklahoma.
