Linda Janet Jackson

Linda Janet Jackson was born on April 27th, 1942 to Ruby Ethel (Taylor) and Mel Lois Gilley in Antlers, Oklahoma. She was Valedictorian of her high school class, graduated from college with a B.S. of Education, Masters Degree of Education and a plus 90. Linda started the first ever preschool in Coweta, Oklahoma. She taught 1st grade for 30 years. Linda grew up on Gilley Hill, her family's ranch in Clayton. This is where she grew to love the outdoors, working cattle, raising a garden and riding horses with her parents. First and foremost, Linda was a Christian and loved her Lord and Savior. She was a dedicated servant who was extremely active in her church and community. She considered her Sunday School classmates as family. Second, only to the Lord, I'm sure everyone knew Linda's second love.....her Baby Boy Justin. From the moment she held him in her arms, to the time she left this earth, she spent the majority of her life caring for her Pride and Joy, Justin. There was nothing she wouldn't do for Justin...She "Always Found a Way." Even at the very end, her only concern was that Justin would be ok and that they would be reunited again in Heaven. Linda adored animals of every kind. Almost all of her animals were rescues, from Rudy, her pet deer, her horse Ole Joe, the sweetest and smartest dog in the world, Paris and most recently, KK, a tiny cat, they rescued and nursed to health. KK wasn't hard to find. She was an extension of Linda and spent most of the last two years curled up in Linda's lap sleeping. Linda is survived by her son, Justin Jackson of Clayton, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Danny Hollingshed, Dwight Long, Nathan Lucas, Tom Lucas, Stan Rickner, and Jack Russell. Honorary Pallbearers are Byron Bohannon, Steve Burchett, Chet Endres, Pete Heflin, Don Nichols, Billy Redman, John Redman, Merle Redman, Carl Sisney and Kevin Wahl. Services will be on Tuesday, May 26th 2020 at 10:00 AM at Coweta First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Bro. Vern Charette and Bro. Nathan Lucas officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 PM at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Antlers, Oklahoma with Bro. Russell Fincher officiating. Services are under the direction of McCarn Funeral Service of Talihina, Oklahoma. Due to the possibility of inclement weather, the interment has been moved to the First Baptist Church in Antlers at 3:30 PM.
