Lahoma Rose Marley

Lahoma Lorane (Rose) Marley, age 92 of Talihina, Oklahoma passed away from this life on February 14, 2024 in Eakly, Oklahoma. Lahoma was born in Sardis, Oklahoma to Minnie and Jock Standefer on November 15, 1931. Lorane attended and graduated from Clayton High School in 1949. Lorane married her high school sweetheart John Rose, and from that union had two children Nina Jo and Philip Gene. Lorane was a workhorse and worked tirelessly in their family owned business, the Talihina Tastee Freeze. Working long hours at the Tastee Freeze and raising her family Lorane was never one to complain. She believed you got out what you put in. Loranes's family was always her top priority. Upon selling the Tastee Freeze, Lorane worked two jobs at the local bank, and for Mr. Chapman at the Talihina Tag Agency. When Chapman retired, Lorane was appointed the new tag agent where she served the State of Oklahoma for more than 30 years. Lorane was dedicated to her community for many years. She served as inspector of the Latimer county election board and was secretary of the Talihina Roundup Club. Later in life, Lorane married Ed Marley. Upon retirement they enjoyed travel and spending time with family. Lorane loved baking, crocheting, playing cards and country and western dancing. Lorane was loved by many. The amount of friends she had was a testament to her kind, fun loving personality. Lorane's door was always open and she welcomed everyone with a smile and a "come on in". After 92 years of love and laughter, Lorane joined her mother, Minnie Standefer; father, Jock Standefer; sister, Mary Nell, and son Philip Gene in heaven with her heavenly father. Lorane is survived by her daughter Nina Yearwood; her sister, Billie Huddleston; grandchildren, Tonya and Bobby Noon, Heather and Tommy House, Amy and Eric Greteman, Johnna Lee, Stephanie Hobson, Jennifer Rose, John Michael Rose, Philip and Ali Rose, Kati and Ethan Zauner, along with many great grandchildren and one great great grandson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, February 16th, 2024 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at McCarn Funeral Service in Talihina. Services will be on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 3:00PM at Talihina Methodist Church with Interment to follow at Sardis Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service.
