Janice Sue Lucas

Janice Sue Lucas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 15, 2020. She was born on January 4, 1947 to Ray and Lillie Wofford Wells of Talihina, Oklahoma. In February 1962 at Buffalo Valley Baptist Church, she gave her life to Jesus and began her walk with the Lord. Then she graduated Buffalo Valley School and then married her best friend David Lucas on September 8, 1966. They were married for 41 wonderful years. She attended Oklahoma State University then completed her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1976. She had 3 children, Monica, Nathan, and Tom. She taught her full career and ministry at Buffalo Valley School and retired in 1998. Jan spent her life witnessing to everyone she came into contact sharing the love of Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Lucas, her parents Ray and Lillie Wells and granddaughter Kelsey Lucas. She is survived by Monica and husband Joe Morrow of Roff, Ok, Nathan Lucas of Buffalo Valley, and Tom and wife Tori Lucas of Buffalo Valley. Grandchildren are Lucas, Jonathan, Andrew & Thomas Morrow of Roff, OK , Kayla & Kyle Price of Heavener, OK , Landon Lucas of Muskogee, OK and Sam Lucas of Stringtown, OK. Great Grandchildren are Avery Pate of McAlester, OK, Kollin and Parker Price of Heavener, OK. Jan is known and remembered for being a woman with a big heart full of love for children and people. She definitely had a gift of making each of us feel special and loved. She took great joy in sharing the Gospel of Jesus with others. If she were talking to each of you today, she would say she loves you and Jesus loves you. If you don't know him as your savior, today would be a great day to make the best decision you can ever make. Pallbearers will be Kyle Price, Landon Lucas, Sam Lucas, Lucas Morrow, Jonathan Morrow, Andrew Morrow, Thomas Morrow and Dustin Henry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy McCormick, Tobe Anderson, Byron Bohanon, Casey Henry, Austin Henry, Justin Jackson and Kirk Anderson. Visitation will be on Monday, May 18th 2020 from 5PM-7PM at McCarn Funeral Service in Talihina, Oklahoma. Services will be on Tuesday, May 19th, 2020 at 1:00PM at Buffalo Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Dave Shaw and Bro. Gary Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment will follow at Center Point Cemetery in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service of Talihina, Oklahoma.
