Bernetta Sue Goodrich

Bernetta Sue Goodrich was born July 15, 1957 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Marvin and Ruby Nichols. When Bernetta was 10 years old, her family moved to Talihina, Ok. She attended Whitesboro Schools where she eventually met her high school sweetheart and partner for life. Ricky and Bernetta dated for 3 years and were married on January 9, 1976. They raised 4 children of their own and cared for many more throughout their lives. Bernetta raised her children in a loving manner and continually showed them her faith in God. In times of distress or in times of abundance she always gave thanks to God for the many blessings he had given her. She taught her children about the sacrifice Jesus made and demonstrated sacrifices of her own to help others. Her grandchildren brought her lots of joy and added an extra twinkle in her eyes. She loved to sing praise and worship songs and any song by George Straight. Bernetta was a very kind and compassionate woman that was always thinking of others and doing what she could to help those in need. Bernetta loved All children. She operated a Daycare for several years and cared for many children over the years. She worked at KATS for 29 years, starting as a HeadStart Bus Driver and retiring as Office Supervisor. She also delivered mail as a substitute mail carrier for the Talihina Post Office. She gave of her time, energy and attention to her family and others. On many occasions she went out of her way to help those in need. There are many that called her "Mom" many others called her "Mamaw". She was also known as "Bus Driver", "Mail Lady", "Sister Goodrich" and "Ms. Netta". She displayed selfless devotion to her husband, love and care to her children and was a follower of Christ. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Ricky Goodrich, and her 4 children Laura (and Lloyd) Smith of Talihina, Tyrel (and Stacy) Goodrich of Bokoshe, Melissa (and Edward) Blagg of Talihina, and Mark (and Heidi) Goodrich of Talihina. She went to be with the Lord on her 66th birthday, July 15, 2023. Pallbearers will be Tyrel Goodrich, Mark Goodrich, Edward Blagg, Lloyd Smith, Trenton Abdnor, Larry Goodrich, Timmy Goodrich and Shane Nichols Visitation will be on Thursday, July 20th, 2023 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM Services will be on Friday, July 21st, 2023 at 10:00AM at Faith Pentecostal Church in Talihina, Oklahoma with Bro. Steve Jeffcoat officiating. Interment will follow at Whitesboro Cemetery in Whitesboro, Oklahoma.
